Do you carry spare magazines/ammo for your backup gun?

To those who carry a backup gun: Do you carry spare ammo for it, too?

I like the idea of a Glock 19 as a primary weapon, with two extra magazines ready to go. I also like the idea of a backup gun, like the Kahr CM9, but don't know if an extra magazine for it would be necessary.

I figure if I can't get the job done in 40-plus rounds, then I've no business even handling a gun, ha! On the other hand, having too much ammo is better than not having enough.

But everyone is different, so I'd like to hear opinions and thoughts.

I carry two reloads for my primary and one reload for my back-up.

Glocks are all I carry, with extra 17-round mags.

As of today I do not carry any extra ammo for my LCP when I am out. I wouldn't mind having an extra magazine or two on me though when I'm out.

I carry three extra mags on me, a case of ammo in the trunk, another on the trailer behind the car, more in the little red wagon behind the trailer, and at least a box on the skateboard behind the wagon.

    Sorry, just had to.

I didnt even have an extra mag until I bought this latest pistol it came with 1 extra.
Average shootout 2-3 shots between all occur,so unless you run into a gang 17 bullets should suffice, should that gang be all armed your not getting all 17 of those out anyway.
That said generally have a small 22 as a backup,pa63 as primary.Should they shoot at me while in the truck sure have reloads and other weapons, but then again could just drive off.

Ruger LCP + one spare magazine
The more good folks carry guns, the fewer shots the crazies can get off.

Glock 19, two extra mags....if/when I carry a BUG, it's normally my G26 and my extra mags fit it...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

one carry gun, two or more reloads.

add a second carry gun, that gun has one reload.

if practical, both carry guns shoot the same caliber.

i don't care what the, "average shoot-out" requires. i don't ever want to run out of ammo before i run out of bad guys.

I have 11 .40 cal cartridges in my M&P and two 10 round mags (one JHP and one FMJ) with me (one in my off-side front pocket in a Remora single mag holster and one in my backpack). I take the bus most everywhere so I don't have a trunk.
