I'd vote for the J-frame, even though I don't really like mine. When I say I don't like it, I don't mean that there's anything wrong with the gun. It functions perfectly, and is a quality firearm. I just don't like shooting it. It's a lightweight gun, has a heavy trigger, and has almost nothing for sights. It's exactly what it is intended to be, and serves its intended purpose very well. For me, its intended purpose just doesn't make it an enjoyable / anything that I "like". Despite the fact that I don't "like" the gun, I'm glad to have it, and I respect its role. Likewise, it goes everywhere I go.

I use my Shield 9mm as my backup to BTC Glock 17/19...

I would consider the Shield a "hot weather", "NPE" or "backup gun" type gun. Too bad it's a single stack - mags won't interchange with anything. So - you could pretty much pick anything you're interested in since compatibility isn't a possibility. A tiny little gun is a neat thing. I don't have anything smaller than a 442 myself.

Interesting! Where did you find a P3AT in 2000?
