Purchased JMBs other classic, a Browning High Power.

I have been known to go to gun shows and return home with just collectable coins along with some ammo. Well today I went to a coin show and returned home with a gun instead. There were very few vendors at the coin show and I could not find anything I could not live without. I decided to try a pawnshop I have bought coins and guns from on occasion. I walk inside and while perusing the showcases there it was, a Browning High Power quietly crying and whimpering “take me home”. After fondling it for a few minutes I asked the owner if he gave a discount for cash, he looked at the tag and said $550 out the door. A quick run out to the truck to grab the cash and a few minutes filling out the 4473 and it’s mine.

Oh, oh, OH MY GOODNESS! You've have purchased my personal handgun weakness. There are those who dislike the safety. There are those who whine that it's not a 1911 trigger. But, IMHO, the FNHP detractors (Sons of Perdition) can all go collect poly pistols & tactical Tupperware. Congrats on the wise purchase of one of the few handguns that, upon presentation, feel like a friend's handshake. Nice buy!

Nice, a classic. Slap some Spegel Cocobolo grips on her and she'll be a beauty queen.

Yeah, but put on thin-line Navidrex Micarta and she'll feel like...a beauty queen!

I'd be crying and whimpering a bit, too. $550, eh? Not bad, assuming it's in great shape with no bad habits.

    Enjoy the new classic.

Have a friend who lost two prized Hi-Powers to burglary, some years ago. Never saw them again. He looked sad for a good month. Sweet shooters, both of them, and about as ergonomically perfect as it gets.

You fly guys always were a sucker for a little whine and cry!

Nice find. Somewhere, someday, I'll find one when I have the money for it.

Nope, High Powers are like Mint Juleps at The Kentucky Derby, one is plenty, two is too many and three...isn't anywhere NEAR enough!
