Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft!

C and D. I'm 64 and have a nice 1911 collection but one of my main carry guns is a customized Colt Commander. Beavertail, front strap checkering, Night sights, etc.
I got box stock series '70 MK IV when my Father passed away. I thought about leaving it 'as is', but I am a user, and have no safe queens.
So I ordered a bunch of parts from the Wilson catalog and had them added on by a competent no-name pistolsmith...that still does excellant work.
The pistol is basic.....fixed sights, long trigger, ext. thumb safety and beavertail basically. It works great and is very accurate.
I am not terribly worried about collectors status.....there was alot of Series 70's made...and the sights on them all sucked.
Personally....I'd probably send it to a good name smith, if I was doing it again....but....mine works fine as it is, and that is the bottom line.
As a matter of fact I have a large security pistol match coming up in less than three weeks and I'll be shooting Dad's Old Colt in it..........pictures to follow...when the match is over with. Gotta hit the range for some more 50 yard practice cuz that is where we start.
Pic: Dad's Colt is the top one..........
If it feeds what's wrong with it now?
