Not bad. A young lady at the range owns it and really likes it. Nice small package with a big bullet. Recoil seemed ok but i'd have to shoot it more than once to tell if it's manageable for me.
Overall, it seems like a good product by SA.

Have yet to read a scathing review of one of these. It's on my "must rent" list for the range.
When I have some extra pennies I want a single stack...it will be an XDs or a Shield, leaning towards the XDs (especially when it comes out in 9mm, I won't have any extra pennies before then anyway) My current EDC is the XDsc so I kind of like the idea of keeping things similar. We'll see though. It would make my day if my range got one as a rental!!
Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.
Love my xds. Flawless and comfortable.
While I didn't receive the email personally, I have seen one forwarded from SA that a 9mm is coming in the XDs.
The 9mm is such a popular round for concealed carry I believe it's coming...just not as fast as I may want...
I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 9mm version. I owned an XD9sc a while back and loved how it fit my hand. I just ordered a Beretta Nano earlier today, but I'm always open to owning another handgun.
The trigger seems much improved over the regular XD line, the XDS is crisper and with less "mush"
Did they do a redesign of the trigger?

What non-shooter are YOU planning on taking to the range?
The XDs is my daily carry gun.mlove it and so far it has worked perfectly. No FTF or FTE.
No one ever said it'd be easy.
The Springfield manual provided with the XDs lists 9 and 40 as well. My wife couldn't handle the recoil, frequently didn't trip the grip safety, and couldn't take it apart. It is a fine gun and I couldn't find much fault other than the take down lever being extremely hard to move.
I've held it and I really like how it feels in my hand. But, I also have a G30SF and a G36. XDS is a seductive little .45acp but for some reason it just is not yet compelling for me. But I cannot take my eyes off it when I see one.
I guess, for the time being, I'll just envy those of you who have one.
