    Breaking my 1911 Cherry.

Well, other than in the service anyway. I have an Enhanced Colt officers Lightweight (I can see the smaller than 4" argument coming) that should be at my ffl friday or monday. It's had a few things done to it, but pretty much what I would like to do plus I want to change the rear sight to something like a Novak. I will post a couple more when it gets here:

I will also have a new colt lwt commander xse pretty shortly. Thinking about bobtailing it.

Nice! You could actually carry it just as is and it would do the job.
I sure would buy another magazine minus the slam pad to use as your "in gun" carry mag since no need to have that extra .25" or so to hafta conceal.
Congrats! Beautiful Functional Practical Carry Gun.

Thanks and already thinking about another mag (without slam pad) and maybe replacing the springs and follower in this one for wilson stuff. The XSE will also probably get a Wilson Drop in Beavertail to replace the Ducktail. I'm thinking it will be a good tag team. The officers for warm weather shorts no belt and clip holster carry and the XSR for cooler weather UBG belt/pants carry. I went around and around on it and finally decided on Colt for both. I think though later (much later) when I scrape up enough for a govt model it will be either S&W or Springer, either in the lightweight for carry also. Still a ways off to decide on that one though.

Yes in Arkansas and I wouldn't have any problems with you shooting it.

    Shoot that's pretty close.

    I'm in Rogers.

One of these days we will have to get together and burn through some ammo.

Sounds like a good idea. There's not any public ranges here any more, jsut private. I know there's a lot of boonies around and I used to go to my mothers to shoot over in Oklahoma, but she recently moved away. I'm going to have to join the gun club at some point.

Well there is a public range here.

Free and open most of the time. Unless it's hunting season.

I'm going to have to find out when they are closed instead of driving there and the gates are closed. LOL...

    Clarification:

When I carry at the waist I carry my holstered pistol stoked with a mag that has no slam pad...since (for me) I just don't want the added .25" length at the butt for concealed carry.
I have no problem at all with slam pads on the spare mags.
