I've got no problem with the pistol itself, just S&W lack of coming up with their own stuff.
Went shooting with a friend a few weeks ago and shot his M&P, and I liked the gun, it shot well. I can see why some would prefer it over the Glock. Just not me.
"Adequate" is the right word. If some one wanted to give me one, I wouldn't say no. But, I have a very long list of guns to buy before I would bother with an M&P. Then again, I feel the same way about Glock. I've owned and trained enough with them to know they are solid and dependable, if lacking in pizzaz.
SIXTO probably will get an endorsement deal out of S&W, so I can't fault him in his choice.

I don't know about that. Inlike the way the Glock fits my hands.
But of course I have used them for over 25 years too.

Are you going to outfit it with any Apex stuff?
I've also heard that the full-size nines have had accuracy problems; you'll have to let us know how yours does.

And that's cool I think you're in the majority... And I respect your opinion. On the other hand some don't like Glocks for the ergonomics and the m&p is a good fit.
I also think it speaks volumes that you almost never see a bad word spoken about the m&p. (I'm sure bad reviews do exist.)

Other than most reccommending the Apex trigger job?

touché other than the trigger not having a tactile reset you never hear bad about m&p's... I had forgotten about that.

The ergonomics are the only reason I do not own a Glock. Doesn't like my hand. I bought an XD as it was somewhat comparable. I like the MnP series for the lower bore axis. The XD rides high, but reliability was one of the major factors and aspects of those plastic guns are real attractive when parts will be limited pending the apocalypse.

No matter what is designed, you can't please everyone. Whether it's the grip, sights , trigger or whatever, someone, somewhere will complain and belly ache.
Unlike the days when you picked something like a Distinguished Combat Magnum and learned how to use it.
Shooters today have it sooo easy :)

It's hard to beat an M&P. They are fantastic firearms.
The Ruger MKIII 22/45 is the worst handgun in history to take apart, but is one of the funnest to shoot...
