I like dark, subdued guns. I do have a two tone Colt Combat Elite, but I often consider having it Cerakoated Graphite Black.

Black, since they are polymer frames. My carry guns are not to look at.

Well, since Springfield only makes plastic XD9s, and I prefer all steel guns, does that count? I love me a nice 1911, but practicality, budget, and carry ability dictates I carry a sub $500 ugly grey/black piece of tupperware that goes bang every.single.time. and exactly where I point it. I love my XD, doesn't matter that it's ugly, I trust my life with it, but I wouldn't cry over losing it (ok, I probably would, a little).

Wally Birdsong and Associates in MS perfected the patented Black T Finish, which ironically now comes in various colors, and solves this problem forever. And the gun will NOT rust, after it's been treated. Mr. Wally Birdsong passed away a couple of years ago sadly but his sons are keeping the business alive, and it's thriving. I had my Kimber Ultra Raptor treated, and because I was an active duty LEO at the time, they turned it around in less than three weeks, and for less than a hundred dollars (gun and two magazines). They have huge government contracts (U.S. Navy SEALS to name one end user) and don't advertise much if at all, but they are awesome to work with.

Blued, or similar darker/subdued type finish. While I have had a couple bi-tone examples, nearly all have been blued/similar. I suppose that's just my general avoidance of all things flashy.

Black + Polymer. Metal guns are awesome, just happen to be heavy for me to carry around in my waist all day. And yes, I'm in the same camp, carry guns are not for show.

For metal guns, I love nickel. Going to have one of mine nickel plated soon. Stainless is sweet too, nickel just seems a little more rare.

Depends, I personally like SS, but my EDC gun, that I use when not working, does not come in SS. Finish isn't a deal breaker for me.
