PT145 Pro DA/SA Safety function question

I just picked up a new DA/SA Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro, but discovered an odd, somewhat disconcerting quirk. I'm hoping someone else can validate if this is 'functioning as normal' or if it needs a recouperative trip.

I've noticed that, if the trigger is slightly pulled when the safety is engaged, the safety actually locks the trigger BEHIND the normal reset point. In this condition, the trigger still can be pulled. This works in both the DA and SA modes.

Can anyone confirm or refute if this is normal operation? I'm concerned since, in the one ND I've heard about with a PT145, I suspect something like this may have been a contributing factor.
