    Beretta Tomcat (Anyone use one?)

Hey guys, a friend was offering to sell me his Beretta Tomcat .32 the other day. I really like the little thing cause I can pocket carry it very easily. I don't see much talk about them on here and I was just wondering if anyone else carried them or had some thoughts. Do you think it's the gun or the caliber that makes it seem unpopular?

I have a friend that has carried one for years as a BUG to his Glock 32. I think there are better choices roughly the same size in much more powerful calibers. If you can get it for a steal, why not...

I have one at Beretta for repairs: bought it used and it had a problem that a LGS couldn't fix properly. Had the Inox/SS version about one year ago, with walnut grips, traded it and have missed it ever since. Those who say it is too small a caliber to carry--- ask them to stand in front of it at 7 yds. and see what they think then! It's a neat little gun with a pop-up barrel from a company that's been in existence for 500 years and, if you get in a bad situation, it will give you 7 + 1 shots at the Bad Guy. It may not be as potent as a 9mm, etc., BUT, would you want to be shot by a .32acp at 21 feet!? There have been posts on this forum by former LEO's and they have said that the Tomcat is their EDC. Make up your own mind--- YOU are the one who has to feel comfortable with it.

I have one. It's cute. Even put walnut grips on it. But I wouldn't want to rely on hitting anything more than 10 feet away. I only carry it when I really couldn't concealed anything else. It is the backup for my backup.

I have the .25 version (bearcat?) anyway, it's very unreliable after 2-3 shots. Jams, fte, etc. Could be the ammo but i never carry it. It is a family heirloom that collects dust.

I had one. Ran a couple hundred rounds through it without issue. Sold it and bought a j-frame.

I picked one up back when they hit the market. Not a bad little back up gun, reliable, tilt up barrel has it's place. It ended up being claimed by some chick as "her's".

I shot mine to the death. Beretta replaced it for about 1/3 of the original coast. They also sent me a letter saying it was not meant to shoot more than 1000 rounds. This is back when they were first introduced. I figured if I can't shoot it time to dump it and I did.

I never did buy one because at the time I was considering it I read some reports that they were cracking frames. I dont know if they have corrected the problem.
