For sometime I have had to relegate my 1911's that I have carried for thirty years to competition shooting only because of back problems. I recently started a new type therapy and, with a third injection, 1911 carry of a lightweight model is again a viable option. I am carrying a Colt New Agent in a speed scabbard and may try going back to my Colt LW Government Model some of the time. I will still put my Colt Agent revolver in my front pocket when anything larger won't do. This New Agent is my third short barrel Colt and all have been totally reliable. The current one has about 1500 rounds through it now with 500 of those in one range session without the first hiccup.

I sometimes carry my SIG C3 around the house and on the farm, in fact I'm packing it as I type this, but my all time most carried gun is a Glock 26. I carried the Glock 26 earlier in the day, but just wanted a change so I got out the SIG C3. It's my only 'real' 1911. That might change for the summer when I get a good holster for the XDs.

And as soon as my holster arrives, it will be joining me in the carry rotation.

Definitely a good carry choice. I have 3 semi-autos to choose from and a SIG 1911 Compact RCS is one of them.

    Time to revive this thread.

I'm now carrying a Sig 1911 RCS - a commander slide on an officer's frame.

I carry a 5" 1911 in either .45 ACP or 10mm most days from when I get dressed until it goes on the nightstand when I go to bed.

So you are back to carrying a 1911?

I have carried one off an on at times but this time I am DTERMINED to make it my EDC and cut out all the rotation of different guns that I have been doing of recent. I'll save to get a better 1991 like maybe a Dan Wesson ore something but I have decided to stick with the 1911 and master it..

I have been carrying a Ruger SR1911 Lwt Commander for sometime now. I carry it in a Jackass aka Galco Shoulder Holster in the late fall, winter, and early spring. When it warms up I carry in a Kydex IWB holster. I always carry two extra mag when I carrying a 1911. I also carry a Ruger LC-9 as a BUG in a pocket holster in one of my pockets depending on what I wearing.

Primary EDC is a Dan Wesson ECO (officer size) or a Turnbull Commander, both in .45.
