Tell me what you'd think about that.
This is a discussion on Desert Eagle 44Mag for carry? within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; Tell me what you'd think about that....
Tell me what you'd think about that.
If you can conceal it, fire it accurately, can afford the ammo, and your body can take the punishment for a lot of practice why not.
But it's not for me.

Bazooka in the shop?
All kidding aside, if you can shoot it accurately and competently and you can find a decent holster and have the body frame and clothes to do it then by all means go for it.

6 inch barrel....you would not believe the accuracy. No Dirty Harry here. It simply works and 44 mag? Kinda brings the cartridge debate to the edge...don't you think? Yes....I would seriously consider carrying it. May not clear leather like a PF9, but I think the answer would be rather definitive.
Personally that is just too large of a weapon for me but as others have said if it works for you go for it. Oh and some say the 1911 is far too heavy for carry.
When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

you're new at this, aren't you? Carry that around 24/7 for a month and tell us how its working out for you.![]()
Kimbers are the guns you show your friends....Glocks are the ones you show your enemies.
What do I think?
I think its a dumb idea. But, if thats what floats your boat, have at it.

Maybe for my wife or grandmother, I would go with .50ae for real stopping power.

If it works for you I'd say go for it. How are you planning on carrying it? Belt holster, shoulder holster? This is an awfully heavy piece of iron...
I'd get something smaller for CC - keep the 44mag for HD. Just my opinion though....ymmv.

I bet Deadguy will chime in with the most effective way to carry it...
If you can pull it off, more power to you. I am all for any firearm that you can effectively conceal, get on target, and shoot well that passes FBI minimum penetration standards!

I humped mount MF back in 1982 with a full pack of C-Rats in the rain during RFTD USMC to the firing line. You let me know just how new you think I am....then we'll go all over it again. I'm just asking from the men. I'll end up doing what I please in the end. Just testing the waters.
You watch the movies?
Tell you what.....last Marine got shot and killed during a live fire exercise was when I was crawling through the mud under barbed wire and 9 feet away. I can't tell anyone not to stand up, but I can tell them when not to. If they don't heed my advice....it's their own fault.
Even better...
