Who carries a CZ?

This is a discussion on Who carries a CZ? within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I am primarily a revolver guy for concealed carry (love my j-frames). But the only surviving pistol in my safe is a P-01......

2075 CZ Rami alloy 9 daily carry. Had a Compact 75 in nickel and a P07 Duty, but those were too big for me to comfortably carry AIWB.

The P-01 is an excellent gun. I've rented/shot it a the range a few times. Probably will be my next purchase... Although, the P-83 .380 caliber might end up in my wife's purse pretty soon...

My "Car Gun" is a CZ-82 (9mm Makarov ammo). I seldom actually carry it, but it lives in the SUV's center console.

I've owned it several years, and fired about 500 rounds of Russian Wolf ammo -- with NO misfires.

If I'm not carrying my HK 45c, I am carrying my CZ P-01.

Havenít been able to find a CZ in town, but danm do I want to try one. P-07 carriers, Iíve heard mixed reports about the SA trigger pull. How is it?

Sandpiper, those pictures seem to have me drooling a bit. Much better than black plastic.

I don't have experience with the omega trigger system in the P-07, but CZ 75 series with the standard trigger have rather deep hammer hooks. In SA, the hammer has to get pulled off the sear until the hook(s) clear the sear (known as creep).

If it bothers you, go with a custom or competition hammer like the one at CZ Custom Shop. The competition hammer has very short hook(s), resulting in a very crisp SA (it also improves the geometry for DA).

CZs aren't known for having the best triggers out of the box, but they can easily be worked on which is looked at as a big positive. I don't know about the p07 series but the SA trigger on the 75 series can be made to rival any 1911 trigger.

I would call CZ custom CZ Custom Shop or cgw cajungunworks

Also, I would ask at the cz forums. The Original CZ Forum - Index

The omega trigger is excellent. Both single and double action. Plus, the trigger is actually metal, so it has a really nice feel to it.

I checked out a 75 at the shop today. It's a nice gun.
