    BUG for Ankle Holster...

I carry an XD 45ACP 4", but I'm looking for a good BUG to carry in an ankle holster. I'm thinking maybe a P3AT or S&W J-frame, any input, suggestions? I'm looking for something cheap, but not too cheap, if you know what I mean.

With no specific reccomendation i will note that small autos are much thinner than small revolvers , tho the " hurtyourhandiam " smiths and thier ilk are certinaly competitave in the weight dept . Autos take a fair amount of matinance ( cleaning ) when carried on the ankle tho , be prepaired to give it a full cleaning every fiew days , this goes for pocket cary also . Oh and for myself if anything is carryed ankle style its my Kahr pm9, but it really doesnt fall into the " cheap " catagory . For my useage snubbys are religated to belt holsters , or winter coat pocket carry .

The S&W 642 J-frame is light and inexpensive, but thicker than a little semi...I'd steer away from the J-frame if it's ankle carry. Any other type of carry, including pocket, I'd go with a 642 (with Crimson Trace preferably).

from 1979 to 2006 i carried the s&w j frane as the "bug" on the ankle/belt/pocket/etc.... then i found the kel-tec p3at. after i checked it out (shoot one mag without any problems) it became my ""bug". i find myself carring the kel-tec 98% of the time over the s&w m60 (and sometimes as "primary"). you will/can see the weight different between the two guns,, when you have to carry them on the job,, and this makes a big different to me. ok,,, it does not matter the size as long as you carry something!!!!
