I know. But I have to have it. I also have a Taurus 444 Raging Bull .44 magnum with an 8¨ barrel that is impossible for me to conceal, unless I´m wearing a coat. But I had to have it. This new service pistol that the Russkies are issuing has got me laying here awake at night.

Russian "Strike One" service pistol-download-1-.jpg From what I´ve read, the Russkies are trying to implement the replacement of the Makarov with this Strike One,Russian "Strike One" service pistol-images-4-.jpg full on by March this year. Is that a barrel extension or what???

I can't find anything on the Web about it being available to the public yet. Seems like it's still in prototyping.

Looks like it has a really low barrel axis, though, doesn't it? Low enough that I'd be concerned about slide bite.

Good point. I have read several blogs about the low axis as a recoil reducer. And I saw some YouTube videos with a couple of Russian misanthropes blazing away at paper targets. I will have to look into this slide bite issue further. I thought the shape of the pistol was unusual, and now I suspect I know why. The rear of the reciever juts out over the web of the hand as a way of avoiding the slide bite IMHO.
