    seasonal changes and gun rotation

Its finally cooling off here in Georgia and the ol' leg is about healed, so I have taken to wearing long pants to keep the slight chill from taking its toll. I have also made a change in carry. I find myself with my colt mustang in Kevin's (K&D) back pocket holster. I forget its even there. Of course, when old man winter hits, I'll change again to a heavy (er) hitter. The .45 full time . Change is good.
Those things (at least in steel) are kinda heavy...

When colder weather finally comes in and I can wear a coat, I'll change from a OWB holster to a shoulder holster. I find a shoulder holster is much more comfortible.

Thats something to consider, Ben... Any recommendations ?
I like the Para that I have, but she is sure heavy. I'd rather not forsake her for a glock 36 because of my being uncomfortable with it.

I am lucky - no need to make any changes - other than cover garment size and choice gets better now.

I have reached the stage where if possible my carry will be the same every day - same gun, same rig. I did use a sho rig before and still might at times as another option - Bianchi X-15 front break.

Chris, I checked out yer rig in a search. Nice looking and comfy too !
I can see my problem lies in finding the right set-up due to chest size. Most of my coats are either 54" or 56" in the chest.

good question artz... I really doent change method of carry much, depending on the way I'm dressed. Once winter hits, I do switch from 9mm to .45, primarly because its easier to hide a larger gun, and I want more power to penetrate the bubble coats.

    Tennessee weather:
    Monday - sunny, 70F
Tuesday - cloudy with chance of snow, 32F
    Wednesday - tornado watch, 65F
    Thursday - sunny, 85F
Friday - possibility of hail, 35F
    Saturday - perfect for a picnic, 75F
Sunday - chickens falling from the sky

One day I'll be carrying my 640 under a tank top, the next day I've got my USPc under a coat and I can't feel my nose. You just have to get used to wearing layers down here.

In the winter Artz I'll carry my G17. In summer with its 17 + 1 rounds, it wants to sag after a few hours of wear even with a good gun belt. But put it in a shoulder holster with a double mag pouch on the other side, it is very comfortible.
