I have several Colt's 1911's and carried them until my back went south. My armory now consists of:
Smith Model 10-7 2" as my truck gun
Smith Model 66 as my bedroom gun
Smith Model 60 in a lock box downstairs near me or my wife
Colt Agent as a pocket carry
    Colt Cobra for belt carry

I do love my wheel guns!

Eric... The 3" GP100 with fixed sights is a superb combat revolver. It may lack the allure and charisma of the older Smiths, but it is a very fine revolver. If your are drawn to it, you'll love it for sure.

I like my snub nose. I carry in my jacket pocket when weather allows me to wear a jacket. I keep one hand inside my pocket with my finger on the trigger when I'm walking in a parking lot or a fringe area. You can shot revolvers through pockets, how wonderful!

Your wife has made a nice choice.
I have the SP101 and it still goes places with me.

Great Wheelies!!! I love revolvers, my first love in firearms. They have soul, character...something I just don't sense in tupperware framed autos.

    3 inch revolvers

Many people on this thread have mentioned the advantages of a 3 inch barrel on a revolver. 3 inches is long enough for reasonable ballistics, good sighting radius and a full length ejector rod, but short enough for snubby concealment. I have one 3 inch revolver, a S&W model 66-4 that I bought by good fortune from the original owner, who only shot it a few times. This model in 3 inch barrel is rare enough that it goes for a significant premium over the more common 2.5 inch version.

Coat pocket carry is great for that... hopefully your revo has an internal (or shrouded) hammer for in-pocket firing.
