But a score or more of the other classifieds listings on the EDS link I provided show folks looking to sell theirs. Plenty out there, and not all are overpriced.

No guns or ammo locally here either.

Might I humbly suggest reloading if you don't already? This ammo situation will happen off and on for the foreseeable future. Might as well just make your own and avoid all the stress, worry, and expense. Stock up on components when the price is down, ride through shortages with stuff on the shelf, restock when it makes sense. That's what I do anyway.

I'm planning to shoot IDPA (SSP with my Glock 19 or 17) this spring, summer, fall. I have 3,000 Berry's Cu-plated RN bullets, lots of primers, powder and brass.

I have no factory ammo here except for carry and HD (some in 9mm, some in .45ACP - It's a lifetime supply, don't expect to ever use any.). Everything else is homemade. God bless the Dillon 550. All my rifle hunting ammo is made on a single stage. I have lots of components for that too.

And yes, I shoot, and have shot, reloads in everything I own. Thousands of them in my Glocks. Plated bullets work fine in Glocks. Cast lead don't, so get plated bullets - eighty bux a thousand including freight. I can see ammo prices continuing to rise driven by demand outstripping supply. It's how the market works. So far, at least, I shoot for about a third of what it would cost to be doing the same practice and competition with factory ammo. The reloading setup paid for itself in less than 18 months. If you don't shoot much, it takes longer.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Check out Midwest Gun Trader I find a lot of guns on there around where I'm at. Also, check SA's XD/XDM lineup. Excellent guns as well.

I cast my own lead bullets from used wheel weights. My Dillon 550B cranks out about 500 rounds an hour when I'm going slow. On my last batch of .45ACP, I paid for my entire reloading setup with what it would have cost had I bought all of the ammo from a factory.

It doesn't surprise me that the G19 is currently as rare as eel's knees. It's, IMHO, the MVP of Gaston's All-Star lineup. When folks are emptying the cases of every GSO (Gun Shaped Object) in the store, is it so surprising that the popular stuff...goes first?

"Let's see, I know NOTHING and this is my last, panicking chance to EVER buy an autoloading handgun. What's good? What have I heard of before? Oh yeah, I think I saw Bruce Willis use one of those in Die Hard 2, or was it Tommy Lee Jones in U.S. Marshals? I'll take that one, and some bullets, and extra clips, and that Zombie knife..."

    Cool

While your waiting for a G-19 feel complete adequate with your G-23.

I have been carrying the G-23 as a EDC for several years now and 13 and 1 is a fair amount of rounds before a reload is needed.

I carry 165 grain Gold Dots or Golden Sabers and am very comfortable with their real world stopping percentage if I do my job putting rounds on target in the right places.

Who knows if you go shoot the G-23 a few times you may decide that you can live without a G-19.

The real problems with Glocks is that they tend to multiply very quickly.

Just curious if anybody else is in a Glock 19 drought or maybe has any idea as to when we will see the shelves full again. I'm just hoping the G19 doesn't become the next Shield.
My brother in law just bought a gen 3 for $575. Crazy in my opinion. I'd hunt for some magazines and worry about the gun later. Glocks arent going away, but the mags might.

Point Blank in Sharonville Ohio has Glock 19's in gen 3 and 4 plus they have gen 3's compensated. Give them a call. Actually you have to just go there. The phones ring off the hook. I was just there 3 days ago. They are listed as Cincinnati.

I found a Gen4 G19 in a pawn shop last month. It had just been brought in. I opened it up (I already own a Gen4 G23) and it was super clean. It also came with three standard magazines. The best part? $409.00! I put it in layaway on the spot and I'll be getting it out in a month (they needed to hold on to it for a couple of weeks anyway while they ran the serial number through the police database). I haven't seen one since, but I really haven't been looking.

Around here, it was hard enough to find a G19 locally before the panic. Probably next to impossible now.
