And what's different from a G30 or G30SF?

The slide doesn't cause concealment problems, the grip (and weight) do--for me. But I carry the G30 anyhow.

I guess it's for the people carrying IWB complaining of the thickness. I carry both a G30SF and a G19 off and on. I can tell the G19 is thinner, but it's not such a big difference that the G30SF is unconcealable.
It will be nice to compete with the Shield and the XDS pistols as this new Glock is thin where it counts but still keeps the same capacity. There's always the G36, but, I guess most people avoid it because of the lack of capacity. Just gives you the best of both in one gun. I'm sure it will have appeal to some who prefer really thin guns for IWB carry.
I tend to carry my G19 more anyway, only because doing a reload is easier. It seems when I try to drop the mag in my G30, I have to lift my palm off the grip slightly because the fatty part prevents the mag from dropping free. Kind of annoying. I should train with it more, but most of my training seems to be with my G19 again.... because of the cost or 9mm vs .45, but my G30SF is my baby :D
I have both the Glock-36 and the Glock-30SF...pretty similar firearms.
I use the '36' as my EDC as the '30 is a bit heavier for all day carry.

Looks like they switched some parts around and gave it a new name. Interesting its not even the Gen 4 frame/texture just looks like the Gen 3 SF.
It's not even an original idea- Glock owners have known for a while that the Glock 36 slide fill fit on a Glock 30.
And with the grip just as fat, it's not any more concealable. Not sure what the point of it was.
Hakkaa päälle!
So with the G36 slide will it fit a holster for a G19/23?
Jim
This in the same vein as a Commander-length slide put on an Officer's-sized frame. No complaints from me about it, but I'll stick to my two 9mm Glocks(G19/G26)and my Colt OM when I want a 45ACP.
