Plus what the others said about carrying a BUG. Is there anything in the new law about carrying multiple guns? Hope not. That would stink even more.

Good luck guys. You have our sympathy.

Probably a good time for the rest of us not to get too cocky either; I'm sure there are states where laws like this are really unlikely, but I'm not laying off the activism yet, hoping our politicians will protect our rights for us. Nope.

Blow their asses away with illegal full cap mag, change mag, shoot the rest of the predators then just leave. In other words Obama, like past presidents with drug war laws, has just turned honest citizens into LIVING criminals. This idea you can reach into an ankle holster mid gun fight is a hopeful stretch. I'm not walking around with 2 guns when I can have just one good one. Not unless I'm in a war zone, like Washington DC.

If you get a click either you got a bad primer or your gun didn't lock the slide on the last round,I would suggest a BUG or practice reloads and carry at least 2 spare mags

I read the text of the new law in NY. I'm not a lawyer, but I think this is what it says about magazines:

For semi-automatic weapons: New magazine sales are banned for magazines capable of holding more than 7 rounds. The existing 10 round magazines are grandfathered. It is a misdemeanor and $200.00 find to load them with more than 7 rounds, should that be checked by an LEO. Existing magazines larger than 10 rounds are banned with a year to sell them out of state. But magazines larger than 10 rounds have been banned for a long time in NY, except for LEOs. Tubular magazines on rimfire rifles are specifically excepted from the capacity limitations.

So, you just carry more magazines and reload like any body anyplace that uses the highly recommended, almost worshipped, 7 round 1911. SIG RCS, SIG C3, any 1911 with an officer's model length grip; they all have had 7 round magazines like forever. People swear by them. People swear by the Glock 36 (6 round mag), and XDs (5 round mag). I have both a 36 and an XDs (and a 17, 19, and 26), P238 and LCP.

I don't happen own anything that has more than a 17 round magazine (my G17), and don't own an AR because I can't hunt with it in PA. That said, I still don't think magazine limits are rational. In fact, there is a logical legal argument that the AR is the most protected class of firearm by the 2nd amendment, because it is the one most likely to be used by a militia.

    Couple of things.

1)You can carry 8 (1 chambered, 7 in the mag)
2)You can throw your gun at them or try to pistol whip them
3)You can load another magazine into your pistol
4)You can pick up your backup pistol that you are probably carrying
5)Take our your EDC knife and fight to the death!

Things gun forums have taught me:
-Some people shoot guns others "run" them.
-I don't dislike Glocks but often dislike Glock owners.
-Open carry is to a handgun as bluetooth is to a cell phone!
-Simple math can deliver posts per day... some gun forum members need to get out more!!!

Two things that would help all these new and proposed restrictions:
    1) If the restriction is not a good idea for or enforced upon Law Enforcement or military it is not a good idea and should not be enforced on law abiding citizens; and
    2) These restrictions shall only apply to criminals .
