Which Sig?
So if all goes well and I can convince the boss, we are going to do the Sig Sauer Commemorative Program for my Unit on our upcoming deployment. Problem is what to choose lol! Out of the 7 listed the P226 in .40 is the only one ive tested. I read great things on all on the list. The P250 will be the cheapest and of course the 1911 will be the most. So any and all input will be greatly appreciated. Plus I can share the info with those interested.
Thanks

I voted p250 - only because I own one. Haven't fired any of the others.
DAO - long trigger pull, like a revolver. Nice thing is if a round doesn't fire, you can keep pulling the trigger. Full size has a 17+1 capacity in 9mm. No manual safties. But with the long, DAO trigger, isn't an issue at all.
Great accuracy. Regular size grip/frame fits well in my smallerish hands. Easy to reacquire target after firing. I can't think of a negative thing to say about it.

I was thinking P250 myself, but my buddies P226 was amazing when I shot it. Nutnfancy raved about the P250, and I like the fact to can convert it to a compact as well. Man so many good pistols, and only one to choose(for now)

Not on the list of options for the program. Unless they update it.

Well that sucks. I would go with a 226.

229 no question, in whichever caliber you like. The 229 is my favorite SIG.

Which Sig?
Nutnfancy raves about the P226 too. I have both P226 and P250SC 9mm and love both. The P226 is my favorite full size service pistol. The P250 is my favorite smaller than full size but larger than pocket pistol. They both shoot great and have been reliable. They both have caliber exchange kits and night sights. I have the P250 sub compact (size actually compares to some other compacts) to fill the gap between my pocket pistols and full size frames, but it comes in full size too. The choice comes down to your priorities and intended use:
DAO or DA/SA? This is a personal preference; they both work good
Concealed carry or open carry? p250 is easier to conceal (at least the smaller frame models)
Polymer frame or metal frame?
Lower cost or higher cost?
Lighter or heavier to carry?
Round capacity? More with the P226, but not a big difference in full size
Feel of the pistol in the hand?
Availability of accessories; holsters, after market sights, etc. (the P226 wins here)
The P226 is a classic, but the P250 (and P2022) offers a more affordable SIG.
What it really comes down to is,if you can, you have to handle both and see what calls to you the loudest. To me it's like in the Harry Potter books where they say, it's not the wizard that picks the wand, but the wand picks the wizard.

If this is for deployment purposes and not as a CCW piece, I've gotta go with the 226, DAK trigger. And probably the 9mm at that.

229 or 226. You just can't beat 'em with a stick. I have a pair of 229s, one 9 and one 40. In your boat I'd get a 226 9, or better yet an M11.

I would go with either 226 or 229. If you want to go .45, then P220.

I voted for the P220. Reason being that with all of the legal turmoil going on these days I figured that the single stack pistols would be the only models that everyone would be able to take home pretty much no matter where they live.

I've always been a fan of the P229 over other Sig pistols. All the P series guns are excellent, but for me the P229 just stands out.
