Two Glock 23's. Which to carry?
A few weeks ago I picked up a Gen 3 Glock 23. Took it shooting and loved it so much I went back a couple weeks later and bought the same gun....Gen 3 Glock 23 to keep at home for my wife since she is pregnant and will be going on bedrest soon. So here I've got 2 identical guns and trying to decide which one should ride on my hip and which one should stay home. Seems like an easy decision, right? They are both Glocks afterall, and proven Gen 3's at that. But when putting them both through the paces, there are couple minor nuances between the two that have caught my attenion.
Both have shot great...accurate and no malfunctions. However...
Glock A has a slightly looser frame-to-slide fit. Nothing major, but noticeable. Glock B has a tigher frame-to-slide fit.
Glock A passed the "rattle test" to make sure the firing pin is free and not obstructed. Glock B passed the test as well, but Glock B had a much more audible rattle and more of a "ping" sound.
And to really split hairs, the slide on Glock has that more glossy look, whereas Glock B's finish isn't nearly as glossy.
So given this information, if you HAD to pick on to carry, which would you choose. Or if I'm being making something out of nothing and these differences are too nominal to even matter, feel free to let me know that too

Never heard of the "rattle test".
Either one in fine. Carry one and keep the other home, they are twins.
In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

Let me be the first to say: "Carry both."
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

I'd choose the Glock, lol.
If they both function properly I really don't think it makes much difference. As far as superficial cosmetic finishes - if you're concealing it it won't matter. Show your friends the "pretty" one. As far as the difference in rattle goes I'd confer with a gunsmith. I suspect that it's just factory tolerances & it should be okay. I guess I'd prefer a slide that is just a tad loose than one that's too tight. After a couple of thousand rounds through each one they'll probably even out.

Mix n' natch barrels/guide rods/slides until you have two guns that are an average of guns A and B.
But seriously, just pick one. The only reason you are noticing the differences is that you are comparing 2 of the same make/ model gun.

I have a Gen 3 and it functions flawlessly just like your two do.
I carried it for two years as a duty weapon until the department switched to Glock 21 SF's.
It is my EDC CCW.

I personally would carry either one of yours and not give it a second thought.
Let your wife shoot both and see which one she likes best and let her have that one.

The fact that you took time and effort to find differences between the two is proof your over thinking it. Carry the one you had first, or the last one purchased - who cares! lol.
If all else fails just do - any miny miney mo.

Put them both on the table (unloaded of course) then close your eyes. Have some else move them around until you say stop. Open your eyes and pick the one closest to you. Problem solved.

Alternate.
Carry A on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Carry B on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
On Sunday, carry both.

If they are both reliable and accurate then there is no problem. Just choose one (do the ol' "eeny meeny miney mo" thing if you have to). Bottom line is that both you and your wife will be well served by either one.
