I just got home with my new Taurus 605. I know Taurus is a hit and miss brand but for the price I couldn't pass it up. I paid $350 plus tax and I got a $50 gift card at Mills Fleet Farm. Comes with two different size grips. Love the feel of the gun and it looks great. I just ordered a remora holster as well. This will be my summer carry gun as the XD is a little bulky. Well here she is!

Oh and does anyone know a good website for ammo? Looking for some .38 sp and .357. Fleet Farm was bone dry.

For speedloaders, I just use Bianchi Speed Strips. Tuff Strips are another popular pick. I like them because they have a flat profile and I can slip them easily into a small pocket in my jeans.
The snubnose revolver is one of the most versatile carry weapons you can get. Everyone should have at least one. Spend some time at the range to get good with it. They're very different to shoot from bottom feeders, but once you get the hang of it you'll love it.

For ammo in 38 special you could do a lot worse than the FBI load (+P 158 LSWCHP). I like Safariland Comp II speedloaders.
Taurus revolvers seem to be much less problematic than their semi's. You should be fine. As for ammo, if you're not particularly recoil sensitive then the 125 gr semi-jacketed HP loading from either Federal or Remington work great. As for how to keep spares handy for reloading, I carry speed strips. With a little practice they can be used very effectively and quickly, though not as quickly as a speedloader. I just don't like the bulkiness of speedloaders.
