I like my rear sights blacked out and have been using a red front sight. This is just with paint until I can justify the cost of replacing the sights.

What color front sight do you prefer?
Personally, I prefer a white front blade. It usually has an outline of black so it seems to be visible against most backgrounds. I've been shooting handguns for such a long time that my "point-and-shoot" combat skills are almost as accurate as a steady aim at 20'. Anything beyond that distance is just for fun anyway. The older my eyes get, the better I see the color white. YMMV.

I usually replace my carry weapons with Trijicon Novak sights in green. I love seeing those glow in the dark on my nightstand.

I have green meprolights on my pistols. I would highly recommend a good set of night sights over painting them.
I put red on my front sights and outline the rear sights with white. I like the contrast.
Maybe he's color blind
I go to the dah lah store and for a buck you can get a bottle of fingernail polish.
I use a coat of white fingernail polish first. Then I tried a florescent orange, it was OK.
Then I tried florescent yellow, I can see it better.
Everyone sees color different. Some see green or orange or yellow better. Depends on your eye receptors and what your cones are most sensitive to.
I bought a set of florescent paints. I like the orange best but keep reading how superior green is. Maybe with fiber optics or legit sight paint? I can't find the right shade of green paint.

Oh by the way THANK GOD FOR GOV. SCOTT WALKER.
The paint on the front sight white dot is fading so I painted it florescent yellow with nail polish. It seem to ok. Eventually, I want to replace the front with fiber optic yellow.
