    Anybody carrying an SP101 Concealed?

    So I've been carrying concealed for a couple years now, usually my G26 or Kel-Tec PF9 when it's really hot out and I dress light, sometime my M&P FS in winter but always wanted a revolver. Was originally looking at air weights but due to availability, and price I would up with a Ruger SP101, 2-1/4". I'm glad I did! I made the decision figuring it would be a fun range/OC gun and would fill the revolver void in my collection, but for the hell of it threw it in an old N82 Tactical I had for my G26 and WOW! Why do people complain about the weight of these things? It carries great! I already on advise of others put on the Hogue Monogrip which is very nice but noticed after the fact that I can buy high dollar (looking) inserts for the originals and they look great. This is my first Ruger but I am VERY impressed with it.

    Also, for the guys who carry them, What holsters are you using?

    I'm enjoying mine a great deal. I've got the 3" barrel and honestly, as heavy as folks say it is, it's lighter than the semis I carry. Hopefully, I'm picking up my GP100 Wiley Clapp at my FFL tomorrow--that's another that folks say weighs a "buttload."

    HEY..you took a picture of my gun!(LOL) I have the same set-up and strapped it on today as opposed to my G19(it was in a bag next to me with an extra 15rd'er). GREAT gun ! Welcome to the SP101 club !

    I carry it all the time. 5 - 357 magnums should take care of business. I use a N82 holster also. I might cut the part above the belt line so its easier to grasp. Really doesn't weigh with a good belt.

    Hey Blaze 57... I have the 3 inch model and its just small enough when sitting down. I appendix IWB.

    thanks sebring...I'm looking to buy the 3 in model. I want a combination of IWB and open carry gun for packing on horses in the backcountry.

    I carry My SP101 every day AIWB. I put the wood inserts on the grip and then changed to the Hogue Grip.The Hogue feels better to me. I also put the XS Standard Dot Night Sight on. While sitting at the Shop one day I took a Rotary Tool and shaped the Trigger to fit me better. After that Flitz Metal Polish shined up the whole Gun. I back it up with a LCR357 in the off hand pocket. Ten Rounds of 357 plus Reloads seams comforting to me.

    I also love my SP101. I have the 3" model. I almost bought a 2-1/4 with a bobbed hammer this weekend. Kind of wish I did now.

    There are thousands (& thousands) of people who EDC a Ruger SP101. It is the pitbull-tough, anvil-durable version of the j-frame sized .357 mag revolver. The only people who don't like 'em, have never owned 'em!

    Love my sp101 2.4 in milt sparks summer special with a safariland speed loader carry with 38 +ps I shot my 357 trooper from my truck window at a pesky beaver chewing down my maple tree could not hear well for a month

    Yep! I do on many occasions.
    No problemo...

    On most pistolas, it's not the barrel that can cause concealment problems, it's the grip.
    The last Blood Moon Tetrad for this millennium starts in April 2014 and ends in September 2015...according to NASA.
