I have been on the hunt for a while now to get a spare magazine for a Sig Sauer SP2022. The cheapest I have seen in stock is $100. So after having too much trouble, I decided to sell it and buy something that has more accessories and that are easy to find. I first wanted a Glock 19, but they were sold out everywhere. So I looked at a Springfield XD9. Right off it felt better in my hands than the fat Glock. I have ownwed an XD9 sub-compact in the past and it was a great shooter. So going on that and the way it felt in my hands, I bought the 4" model XD9. So, now I have 2 magazines. I'm happy with that. And I can get another if I want too. So I took it home and went throught my usual cleaning and lubricating, after polishing the chamber and feed ramp. I then spent about 4 hours stippling the grip. It looks good and feels even better. I have about another hour and that will be complete. Then the fun part Monday, go shoot it! Report to follow Monday evening. But I think I already love it.
Excellent choice. Enjoy!

Congrats! I'm looking at the XDs. Decisions, decisions.

Concerning buying extra mags for a Springfield - keep an eye on their website. A couple times a year they'll have all accessory stuff in the store on sale, usually 30% off. From a list price of $28.95, not a bad deal.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.
My EDC is rhe XD 9. Love the gun.
My EDC is a XD40SC with a 12 round magazine, plus I also have a XD40 5" and both have been flawless. The XD40 SC compact has 6K rounds plus down the pipe without a failure of any type. The 5" is fairly new with less then 500 rounds thru it.
Here is some gun porn. It took me a total of 7 hours to finish the stippling. I really love this gun. When they come out and I can find one, I think I will get an XDs in 9mm for summer carry. Enjoy the pic.
Nice stipple job! I'd love to do that on mine, but I have neither time, talent, nor patience to do it myself. I'd say the XD9 Service is probably my most favorite defensive pistol. Other than the stock sights, I love everything about the XD line. I guess I'm a bit of a fan-girl (Springfield Kool-Aid tastes good ). I'm looking forward to trying out the XDs in 9mm when they are available here. Hubby's been eyeing my XDs45. Maybe he can have my .45ACP if he pays for the 9.
EDC--XD9 Service and/or XDs-45 depending on my mood
Soon-to-be new mama to a S&W 66-2 4"
I carry a 4" XD40 (same size as XD9) much of the time IWB in a MTAC Minotaur holster. Great combination. I've fired thousands of rounds through it with only one malfunction (sideways seated primer on some cheap Russian range ammo - not the pistol's fault). Enjoy your XD.
