i have owned both, both are equally great firearms! i had a gen 3 23 loved the gun just couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it. i prob put 1000+ rounds down range with zero malfunctions. now the m&p, prob one of my favorite firearms, fit great in my hand (large back strap) and i could shoot all day! you cant go wrong with either gun. get to the range and shoot them.
I have a glock 27 and a m&p 40. I love them both, can't say which one is better.
Rent shoot buy there are no mistakes that way, or have a buddy with both and buy him/her a box of rds and got to the range, I have helped many people this way dont mind letting people enjoy what I own. the Winchester S&D isn't bad in 40 either I have all three. Good luck happy shooting
I like the Glock factory trigger a little better. M&P feels more gritty. Of course, either of the triggers can be improved/modified, so it's not a huge issue. Shoot both and see what one feel better in your hand.
I carry a Glock 23 daily. Great gun, does everything a gun is supposed to do. But if I were making the choice today it would be an M&P. It does everything the Glock does, just more comfortably.

Buy the m&p. Then pick up the .357 barrel, 9mm barrel, & 9mm mags and you will have 3 guns in one.

I had both. G23 and M&P40c. Sold both. Regretfully the M&P![]()
I don't have those exact guns, but I have the G27 and the M&P 45C. They're both very good; maybe surprisingly, I shoot the Glock more accurately (but then I always seem to be more accurate with Glocks). If you're on the fence, there are a couple of things that can help you decide. First, if you like a thumb safety, get the M&P. If you hate it, get the Glock. Second, if you're considering getting a bunch more magazines, get the Glock. Glock mags are plentiful and WAY cheaper than S&W.
