New custom grips from Sarge
Well I got some custom new grips for my Ultra Carry from Sarge. If you are looking at getting any new grips for a 1911 I highly recommend Sarge. Working with him was a pleasure and the grips are excellent. I expected them to be a little more grippy in texture, but I might just have to look at getting some custom wood ones for the summer with some texturing. Anyway I know you all want pictures so drool away. I apologize that its only a phone picture, but my camera is busted. Here is my Cobra skin grips from Sarge.

I think guns are like insurance. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Very nice! When you check out wood grips, look at Grips by Esmeralda. I have some on the way for my new 1911. She makes some gorgeous grips.

Texturing on the grips isn't quite as grippy as I would have expected, but I expect that they will get a little more grip as some of the finish wears off. They are about the same texture as a standard wood grip, but look a whole lot better.

I might shop around and see what he can come up with for a wood set, and then do some checkering with some of his carry patterns. .

Now that's unique. A true custom grip.
