    new Para Ordinance 1911

101_7758.jpg101_7757.jpg101_7755.jpg101_7751.jpg101_7750.jpgAbout 10 days ago I picked up a new Para 1911 full size Expert at my LGS. Got to shoot it this past Saturday. You could not have slapped the grin off my face . Man, I fell in love all over again. Fiber optic front sight was nice and easy to pick up. I have to drift the rear sight just a hair as POI was a little left of POA. Have some custom wood grips in the mail coming for it. Any body else have a Para to brag about?

I am not saying you are a liar, I am just saying I do not believe you without pictures!

Glad it is working for you. Met a guy at the LGS that had one and loves it.

I have one that I traded a shotgun for awhile back. It was completely reworked by Alex Hamilton before I got it. The only thing Para left is the frame and slide. It is a great gun that exceeds my ability.

Hello olhippy, I also have a Para LTC. It is not my most pretty gun nor the most expensive. However I LOVE this gun. I carried it for years. I then wanted something lighter to carry so I relplaced the Para with a smaller Kimber. I have put more than 7000 rounds thru that gun, not an ounce of trouble. I have not even needed to change the springs. I could not ask more out of a handgun. I still take the ol girl to the range regularly.

I've got a Para P14 as my 1911. It runs well but doesn't like running JHP from my experience. It also has had a few FTF's, but I do mean just a few. Overall still been a fun gun, great at the range, great to have a double stack 1911, but I almost never use it these days, even at the range. No mods, no upgrades, just a tool that generally worked well.

Hello QKShooter, I know you are right but it is shooting so well and ejecting cases correctly I hate to fiddle with it. I know you are correct though.

I've heard all the horror stories about Paras over the years but my experience has been very different over the past 15 years. I first bought a "16/40 LDA because my dept. wouldn't allow us to carry traditional SA 1911's at the time. I put approximately 10,000 rounds through it over the years with VERY few issues and it was a pleasure to shoot.
I bought a GI Expert last year and you can make one ragged hole out to about 20 yards, which is about as far as I can keep that type of group. The finish isn't the best I've seen but I cannot complain about the accuracy or reliability.

I had a Para GI with the aluminum frame, it was a great pistol. Congrats!
