    Opinions on these 3...

    M&P40c, Nano or Sccy CPX2 gen 2.

I've held and shot the 40c. Haven't held or shot either of the other 2. I want the 40c because I already have a sd40ve. So if I can stick with 1 caliber, I will. Obviously can't with the other 2.

This will be a EDC gun, with range time used to stay sharp with the gun.

Like the size of the Nano and CPX2, but have never put any of them IWB to carry. I like the 40c because of magazine options, have a larger back up mag from a fullsize and ability to one day do a 9mm swap.

    Thoughts?

I'm a big fan of the M&P series, especially the compacts.
smolck, MJB_17 and longhornfan6 like this.

Don't own the Nano but have shot it once.I like it,but,my paws are kinda big.Haven't heard anything bad about it.I have the full size M&P 40,love it..Two LGS here stopped selling the SCCY because they claimed, they weren't very reliable. That said,i don't know anything about it,personally.

Of the 3 choices, I'd go with the order you have them listed in. While the M&P is larger, it's a proven platform. The Nano, seems to be a decent gun, I have no experience with it and very limited with Beretta and that is with the military M9. Sccy seem to be a hit and miss item, from what I've read.

    Being a dinosaur, I'd pick none-of-the-above.

Of the polymer DAO pistols I'd easily go for the M&P over all others though and I like the notion of the 40 S&W.

I'd pick the M&P even though I really like the Nano.

M&P. The trigger isn't all that sweet, but the gun is otherwise flawless.

I just picked up a 9C that I'll break in this afternoon. It'll run perfect. After I get home, I'll clean and lube it, load it with some Gold Dots, and carry it for awhile.

M&P 40c. No question. Greater capability and versatility than either of the other two, by a large margin. Capacity, capacity potential (factoring in the full size mags), easier trigger to master, better track record for reliability, S&W customer service, more market support, picatinny rail... It's a winner.

The other two... The SCCY feels like a toy in hand. It feels like they put it together with the goal of having something to sell, rather than creating a purpose-driven design. It feels cheap. I would not want to have that in my hand, in a shoot-to-live situation. Nano? Well... It prioritizes form factor. The goal is 'small, snag free'. It succeeds in being small and sleek. The grip and balance feel all wrong. It's a skyscraper above the shooting hand. Not a fan.

These are my opinions, take them as you will.

MP40C ..... I carried a kahr CM9 ( same size as nano) and switched to a ruger SR40c (Same size as M&P) and I am much happier. The size makes a world ofd difference in shootability.

Only held one SCCY, but I'd stay away.

I have a new Beretta Nano and love, love it. However, if it were me, I'd do what I could to stick to the same caliber as often as possible, meaning if you already have a .40, I'd get the M&P .40.

Cant say anything bout the nano never shot one. The sccy I had one didnt like the trigger and Its an inexpensive gun you get what you pay for. I now have the m&p 9c. Its a great gun not much bigger than the sccy conceals and shoots good and uses full size m&p mags. Out of the three you mentioned as most have the m&p wins hands down with me. Good luck with your choice.

This. Oh, and the Nano sucks.
