    Magnum Research 1911c

Hey guys, just bought my new magnum research "Desert Eagle" 1911 .45 acp today. I have to say I am TRUELY impressed with how well this firearm performed on the range. I put 200 ball rounds through it with out a single failure right out of the box. After that though I loaded a magazine of reloaded hollow points and they would not chamber. I have read that the 1911 needs to be broken in very well to cycle HP consistently, so I won't mark against the gun for that. If she needs to be broken in, she will be. The gun as a whole feels solid and extremely smooth. I could go on and on but that's the down and dirty. If you are in the market GET ONE.

Everything I have heard about these has been positive, so congrats on a great 1911. The 1911's I have had in the past functioned best with some gunsmith work though. A simple throating and polishing should have it running right if your break in period doesn't give the results you want. Anway, congrats again and happy shooting!!

I've put about 100 rounds through a full size one and really liked it. Shot smooth and was accurate. I was able to hit the center of a Crush bottle cap from about 15 feet away.

Nice, not sure I can even see that at 15 feet anymore.

I held the full size 1911G and liked it a lot, until I felt the commander version. Exact same specs, just a little shorter and lighter. I'm very impressed, I recently shot a Kimber ultra carry and I love the feel of the 1911c far more. Just my opinion.

Learned something today. Didn't know Magnum Research did 1911 guns. Thanks for posting and for the photos.

Before I questioned whether or not it feeds JHP reliably I would try some factory ammo, not all reloads are reliable and some guns may like a shorter COAL than others,it never hurts to polish the feed ramp,if its feeding ball without jamming it shouldn't need a breakin for JHP,

These guns are manufactured by BUL in Tel Aviv. They make a good product. But the 1911 is most likely intended for the American market for several reasons. First, Israelis have no emotional investment in the 1911. Secondly, they don't care about a slim gun with a smaller magazine. This is mainly because concealability is not as important to them; people there don't freak out when they see a gun. But magazine capacity is very important to them.

That said, I'm hoping they come out with a commander, or cco-sized 1911.

Great looking pistol. I've been wanting a Kimber but my LGS is slow in getting them. They do get a good bit of Rugers. Think I'm gonna check out the SR1911.

I know MAgnum Research is owned by Kahr, and I think they do some manufacturing in the states. Not sure about the 1911s.
