Sold the PPS.
I sold my Walther PPS last week. When I originally bought the gun I thought it would replace my Glock 27 as my carry gun, but it never lived up to its hype. The PPS is a well build and reliable gun, but it just didn't fit my needs. I ended up only loosing $50 on the gun and I ended up selling it to a fellow concealed carrier.
Now I want to take to money I got from the PPS, $500, and put that towards another gun. I am thinking either a Kahr CM40 or Ruger LCR. Thoughts on those two?

The Cm40..... I carried a CM9 for a long time and loved it. I wish I had never sold it now. Small, discreet, reliable, super accurate. The 40 may be a snappy little gun the, the 9mm was no slouch. Also, the Kahr pistols have a very stiff slide, but the trigger is fantastic for a long trigger pull. If you will want aftermarket night sights for the CM40, there is not a lot of options. There are a few, but not many. The LCR has more. Either way I think you would be satisfied, im just not a wheelgun guy...yet.

Of those 2 choices I would pick the LCR 357. I love shopping for new guns I think I may be addicted.

^^^ This. Gives you a little additional versatility with 2 calibers, and with all the craziness going on with ammo, revolver caliber ammo is easier to find. If you reload, you also don't have to chase that brass all over.
I think guns are like insurance. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I can't understand what you hope to derive from the Kahr that the PPS didn't have? I'm guessing whatever you didn't like about the PPS you might find with the CM40. Try something entirely different....go LCR.

I'm curious what it was about the PPS that you didn't like?

Yeah, what do you get from a Kahr CM that a PPS didn't give you?
I suppose the LCR drops a few ounces, and 2 rounds (compared to the PPS 9mm small mag), and slows reloads. It is a pretty nice pocket .38.

Did you find that the grip on the PPS had a tendency to print more than you would like? That's the issue I am having right now with my G26 vs my Kahr CW9. The 26 has better capacity and prints less because of the the shorter grip. It's a bit thicker thought. The CW9 is very thin but less capacity and a longer grip.

The PPS was a nice gun, but just not for me. The tall grip didn't help for CC along with it's bigger size.

I had a PPS, too. Absolutely great gun, but the magazine release and I just didn't get along. I find that when under stress, I want all my controls where I expect them.
I would look at either the Shield, the XD 9mm (single stack, coming soon to a store near you) or LCR in .38 spl. The .357 is heavier, and the muzzle flash from actually firing a .357 is overwhelming and you will not get a second shot.
