    SR40c Problems

Recently I picked up a Ruger SR40c from an online retailer. Since getting it I have noticed that the sights have a huge machining mark on them which is starting to rust and now the gun will not cycle properly. I paid $450 for a gun that is currently a paper weight. Does anyone have experience with Ruger CS, and what should I expect?

Ruger has great customer service. They will send you a shipping label and usually fix everything or free and within a week.

I agree...I have always had excellent service from Ruger. I would contact them and let them walk you through what to do. They are GREAT for supporting and servicing their products. The cycling issue is also something they can help you with.

Ruger CS is phenomenal...possibly the best in the business IMO. They will fix your problem no questions asked. Out of curiosity, what exactly is the gun doing ? I too have a ruger SR40C

The slide feels like it is cycling very very rough, and about 1 out of 3 shots the trigger will not reset. The indicator shows another round in the chamber, but the trigger stays to the rear. Glad to hear they have good CS, hope to get this resolved. I will probably end up selling the gun, I know companies make lemons but I am uncomfortable betting my life on one.

Talk to Ruger before you decide to get rid of your gun. As everyone has stated above, they will make it right. Also wouldn't want to sell someone a defective firearm, send it back to Ruger for free and then sell it if you must. The SRc s are great guns, very happy with mine.
I shoot with a pistol and a Canon. We must all hang together amigos, or we will all hang separately. NRA life member.

I would never sell it defective, but I also won't carry a gun that had these failures appear out of nowhere. If it was just a range gun it wouldn't bother me one bit, but I can't trust my life to something that isn't 100% reliable.
