I've owned both a Sig 239 and an HK USPC in .357 Sig in the past. Loved the guns, got itchy for something different. (Like that will never happen again....:) ) Both platforms delivered nothing more than the sense of a Snappy 9MM for me. I realize recoil is a subjective experience, but I was pleasantly surprised. Are there any more .357 Sig Fans on the Forum? What pistols do you use it in? Fun thread...nothing more. Sandpiper
Yeah, it is everything that the 9mm is cracked up to be by so many, yet isn't.
Besides, while appearance doesn't matter, the bottleneck case looks neato.

I would like to be a fan but, Ive been really eager to get a .40/357sig platform in glock but i cant find any ammo locally
I'm impressed with the performance of the round. 357 Sig is my choice for home defense (along with 12g 3" 00 Buckshot). It is also what the Virginia State Police carry for duty.
Here's what stays by my bed:
I like it, very accurate. Folks call it gimmicky but it's my favorite round.
I'm a fan as well but don't own one. Love shooting my friends Sig P239 in 357 Sig. I'm planning to buy a conversion barrel for my Glock 27. The only downside, IMO, is the availability and cost of factory ammunition.
There is no cheap ammo any more. I like the 357 Sig and have conversion barrels for M&P and Glock. I find that the M&Pc is easier on the recoil and follow-up shots for me. In my area, 357 Sig ammo is less than 45 ACP.

I have two springfield xdm's in .40, with storm lake aftermarket .357sig drop in barrels, and storm lake aftermarket 9mm conversion barrels. I love the .40 and the 9mm but REALLY love the .357sig. I leave that barrel in my carry gun now almost exclusively. And until 8 months ago, I could buy all the 9mm I wanted, and there was very little .40 or .357sig on the shelves. Now, it's total opposite, 9mm is unobtanium, .40 is actually cheaper than 9mm when I see them, and .357sig is cheaper than the .40. Maybe they are pricing it aggressively to get it off their shelves, don't know.
On a whim, I recently acquired a G33 in a trade and I've come to love the .357 sig. I did an extended, chrome kit updgrade to it and it looks great, its very accurate and extremely reliable. I just got an extended, LW 2 port barrel for range use and I'm having a great time shooting this gun.

A very unique round. Obviously my favorite.

I am a big fan of the 357 Sig round and carried one on duty as a cop for a good while in a department I served with. When I started in law enforcement the revolver was still king so I "cut my teeth" as a rookie on sixshooters. The 357 Magnum, which I have seen the effects of first hand, is the benchmark for police and self defense hand guns in my opinion. I currently have been blessed to get a Glock 31, and of course, purchased a 40 S&W barrel for it. Currently in Tennessee both the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency issue the Glock 31 to its officers. It is gaining in popularity amongst local and county agencies who recognize its unique application for police work. Of the line of duty shootings I have discussed with those still serving as active LEO's I have been told the street performance has been spectacular. THP is reportedly EXTREMELY happy with the 357 Sig and its performance against vehicles in particular.
In my area 357 Sig is hard to come by, the most obtainable seems to be 45 ACP. Hopefully that will change soon, but until then I guess I will be happy with what the Lord has given me!

I personally like the round, but wouldn't own it. Simply stated all my friends have .40 & we all stock ample supply. Nuff said.
i was a very adopter (1995) of the caliber in a Sig P-229. later got a.40 barrel for the gun, but rarely use it. several thousand rounds of .357 SIG through the gun with no malfunctions of any kind.
later bought a P229 Elite Dark in .40 and bought a Sig barrel in .357 SIG for it, so i have two guns in the caliber, with an extra .40 barrel for each gun.
EDC is a HK P2000SK in 357 Sig. Have another in my safe which is a Robar coated for dress events! Also have 40 sw barrels for both. Shoot the 40 sw for training. Best of both worlds!
