Just wanted to tell everyone that I am very happy. I received my CCW permit today. It was less the 2 months, not bad from what I hear from others in Florida.
I let you know the first day I carry....

Good news - in fact thinking back my non-res FL came thru in about same length of time over a year ago.
If you read here much you'll see that our initiation drill for new CCW's is a trip to WalMart - with or without Natcho's while there
You have to make the whole visit without shuffling and checking - just mingle with the crowds, in a healthy state of con yellow

Congrats on the permit. Don't wait for the perfect time to start carrying. Just start immediately if not sooner. The sooner you start the quicker it will become a natural part of your life. Just my opinion of course.

Congrats. A nice feature of the CCW law here in Maine is the 30 day issuing time line. They have 30 days from the date of receiving your application to issue your permit. I think I had mine inside of 3 weeks.

I always say "people should not do something they want because is going to be difficult or take, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 12 months, a year or 5 years" Because time is going to pass by whether you do it or not either way, so do it.

sh39. I think the WalMart on Pines Blvd has a McD. If not, the one in Red Road/57Av just 3 miles south of Miramar Pkwy has it.

Congrats but..........be forwarned. The Brady's say that them crazed rednecks will shoot ya for just lookin' crosseyed at them.
Also there is blood flowing in the streets somewhere down there although I have never been able to confirm that.
Be ever vigilant,the Floridians don't have to run off screamin', "hep me,oh pleeese,hep me somebody",so if you pull a gun on them, them crazed killers just might shoot ya.

Members, I came from a country in 1968 “Cuba” where you can not even speak freely, let alone have the right to own or carry a gun unless your are a criminal, and then you get to rule the country.
I am a US Citizen and proud of it, and for ever grateful to the people of Pittsburgh, Pa, that opened their hearts and received my family.
A couple of years ago I moved here from AZ after 10 years of living there, where they have CCW . I thought I did not have a reason to carry, but since moving to South Florida I have come to the conclusion, that I better appreciate the 2nd “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Hey I should have done it long ago, but I am have it now…

Congrats on the permit and welcome aboard. The joke around here is that as soon as you get your permit you have to go to Walmart while carrying and order some nachos. I guess aWalmart with a McD's, while not purely traditional, might be acceptable.......

I believe Miggy was referring to "The Nacho Run"...it's a joking tradition that new Concealed Permit holders should make a trip to WalMart as their first official act...it's a chance to wear your newly concealed weapon in a crowd of people to begin getting used to the feeling, and also have an order of nachos (or, in some WalMarts, order from McDonalds) to celebrate.
