Nope I value my hide too much.

not only NO,,,,but HELL NO
A .45 or 9mm hollowpoint is iffy enough, cops don\'t only carry tasersBut what could he do to you while you are flopping around incapacitated on the ground?? Depending on where you live \"reasonable fear\" is the standard, it would (in my humble opinion) be reasonable to fear death or grievous bodily injury if a BG had you on the ground helpless. That brings me to another issue that concerns me. If a BG pulls a Taser, can I shoot him? A Taser is not considered lethal nor serious body harm, so deadly force may not be justified.
Especially if he found your weapon...:)
NO if I go to my pistol it is a last resort. Will use my hands, feet and mace if less lethal force is needed. With a Taser you lack fast multiply strike, multiply target engagement.
I don't believe anyone unwilling to carry a firearm should carry a weapon that's going to up the ante as much as one.Originally posted by Betty
A Taser would be a good less-lethal choice for those unable or unwilling to carry a firearm.
Personally, until they get me Star Wars blasters, I'll stick with lead throwers.
Choose better tools whenever possible.
Even IF it were 100% reliable, it is (as best I can determine) a SINGLE-SHOT device. What if goblin brought a pal? (NOTE: If I am incorrect here, someone please let me know; it will NOT alter my decision to say . . .
Put me down as one more "Nope!" If I were unable (for whatever reason) to pack a handgun, I\'d opt for OC as a less-lethal device.
You've GOTTA be kidding. I have used a stun-gun in jobs past (I was a bouncer when I got out of the army) and they usually work well, but every once in awhile, I'd run into one of those folks who are just ('scuse the pun) resistent to electricity. My army buddy has been hit by lightning three times while he was on active duty. To this day, if it starts raining and I'm standing near him I walk away. If he was ever tasered by a cop (and he's retired Airborne Ranger) he'd just look at him and GRIN. So on the off chance I run into a nutcase like that....I'd never use a TASER for self defense! Not even my bud would claim to be bullet proof!

I don't think I would, besides that they are illegal here in MI.
Nope....I'll consider it when they build a version with a "vaporize" setting!
The news has reported that several people have died after being hit with the taser, if your going to kill someone and go through the legal system, why make them suffer, just use your gun.
If I cant get my target to hold still then maybe a taser would do the trick long enough for me to utilize my sidearm...seriously Id consider it if CCW wasnt a option but tasers were.
I think I'll make it unanimous here, ABSOLUTELY NOT. If lethal force is not required then any kind of weapon (for civilians) is not called for. As a civilian I have no authority to make someone else comply with my will and that is all a taser is for, compliance. My choice in this situation would be to simply walk, (or run) away from the scene. We carry CCW for last ditch defense of life, there is no other reason I can think of would you need a taser, again as a civilian.
