    Nope.

As I see it, the Taser is more of a compliance tool, appropriate for use when an individual must be restrained or arrested but does not present a lethal threat. I would think that would be a law enforcement responsibility. As a civilian, if the threat is less than lethal, leave, call 9-1-1, or both.

No! I have seen what TASERS can and cannot do here in the prison, and they are NOT 100% by far! Don\'t believe the hype.
    That\'s reason number one.
Number 2 is - would you carry a single shot pistol for SD? That\'s what a TASER is, a single shot, highly inaccurate pistol. You have to hit with both prongs for it to work, and they don\'t fly the straightest. One inmate shot at a distance of 3 feet ended up with one in his chest, and the other in his testicles. Ouch. If you miss, reload is forever....and ever..... Effects are not lasting at all, as I have seen them take severl TASER shots, and get right back up.
Thanks, but I\'ll stick with my PO1.:D

    NO

I carry one daily on duty. It is bulky and has a limited range. Not as concealable as my Colt Defender. My X-26 is good for 21 feet. At 21 feet you are vulnerable to an edged weapon attack. You\'d better be on-target by the time that range is met.

It\'s not to be used to counter deadly force. That calls for the good-ole .45.

    Not a chance...imagine the lawsuits.

Although it might be fun to keep having to zap the goblin while waiting for the law to show up...

armored man hit the nail on the head.

A Taser would be a good less-lethal choice for those unable or unwilling to carry a firearm.

    I would not carry one.

Taser\'s are perplexing to me. The thought of having 50,000 volts (or more) injected into the body is not something I like to think about. I know it\'s supposed to be \"safe\", but so was a lot of other things that proved to be more harmful than \"they\" thought.

IIRC, there have been two deaths in Georga due to Tasers. I saw an article in USA Today that Georgia is considering legislation to prohibit LEO from carrying Tasers.

A student in one of my classes is a LEO and was tased as part of his Taser training. He said it was the most painful 15 seconds of his life!

That brings me to another issue that concerns me. If a BG pulls a Taser, can I shoot him? A Taser is not considered lethal nor serious body harm, so deadly force may not be justified. But, once I have been incapacitated by a Taser (again, by a BG), they can do anything or probably make me do anything they want me to as long as I\'m wired up.

Well, that was a little of the subject but perhaps germane to the subject and worth consideration.

But, back to the issue, no, I don\'t carry a Taser and don\'t plan to at this point.

    No.

I think they make excellent LE tools, but I\'ll stick with my HK and perhaps some OC in the future.
