Congrats! I have had my eye on those for a while but could never find one when I had the money.

On my wish list but it will be awhile before the wish comes true !

My favorite SCDNR shooting range closes beginning next week to add a
dedicated pistol range. Looking forward to that but it will be a long dry
spell before it reopens mid-July. Maybe I'll inherit a 1911 by then.

That looks really nice man. I looked all over for a Ruger and S&W 1911 but never have found any. I ended up getting a S&W M&P 45C

You say it like it's a bad thing!

I have the M&P 45c for carry and am hoping to get an SR1911 one day for range/home/BBQ use.

Great pistol preachertim! I was just reading about the Commander-sized version in Shooting Illustrated.

Very nice, may have to start looking around for one. Would match with my other handguns, both Rugers.

Nice pistol. All steel, should be very pleasant to shoot. Ruger makes good guns and they stand behind them. You will get decades of enjoyment out of that pistol.

If they made an all steel version of it with an officer's length grip and a commander length barrel, like my SIG C3 I'd find it irresistable.

I had one for a month and really liked it. I found a 3" 1911 that I couldn't pass up and sold the Ruger to a buddy to get the 3". ... I will definately be getting another!
