    Where Did My Dot Go?

On Friday while doing some target practice at buddy's range, I noticed something after my first shot, the white dot on my front site was gone. It is something that is not all that unusual with the M&P Shield. It is not a massive issue since I plan on getting a crimson trace when they offer it in green for the Shield, but until then, what would be a good replacement? White nail polish or model car paint?

Same thing happened to my M&P 45c.

I just painted it in again with model paint and sealed it with clear varnish.

I think it's a sign from God telling us to get Trijicons...

    KISS

With a laser you will at times be asking the same question. Learn to use the sights: Meprolight or Trijicon.

Just happened to my shield about 2 weeks ago, 1 call to smith and Wesson and they send you out new sights or offer to fix yours in house no questions asked.

Why are all you guys making excuses. Obviously the OP has a defective weapon that weighs heavily on his mind. In order to relieve that load, I would be willing to take receipt of the weapon in question. Although I realize the tremendous burden I would be shouldering, I would be willing to do that to ease the mental burden MJCLark is carrying.

Or I could just suggest some fingernail polish until he is ready for the trijicons.

As I understand it if you send your gun back to S&W along with the lost dot they'll fix it free & send you another mag.

    Just kidding, lol.

Pick up a $4 bottle of brightly colored nail polish at the local drug store. Tell the girl at the counter it's for your daughter.

I purchased a bottle of white auto body touch up paint at Walmart to repaint the dot on my Novak front sight.
