    Bersa Questions???

I let my wife handle a new Bersa .380 today. She's got a Glock 26 that she shoots quite well, but the grips are too large for her small hands. She liked the feel of the Bersa. I was curious about the recoil in the 9mm vs. the .380. I've never shot a .380 in my life & would prefer that she have a 9mm.

I also noticed on the Bersa website that they have a new CC model available this year. I'm a Dealer (shotguns mostly) & my supplier doesn't have it available. They only have limited Bersa models...basically one of each caliber. If the CC model is the way to go, I'll keep looking around.

    Thanks for any help

One of the local shops here has a CC model. Looks great.

Many here have wives or GFs that carry/ use the Bersa (and a few guys too) and it's gotten great reviews.

I'm thinking of picking one up (the CC model) myself.

My wife has my Bersa .380 as her carry - and I hope to move her up to 9mm sometime. The Bersa does tho feel good in the hand - even for my larger hands too.

The relative perceived recoil is pretty acceptable IMO compared with real small .380's like P3AT - mainly because the Thunder has enough weight. That weight tho for some folks is a downside for carry.

Many 9mm's are heavy enough that they probably will feel not a lot different from the .380. I don't know what new CC gun they are bringing out but - bought this UC9 (Ultra Compact) from dr_cmg here a while ago and it is a very nice shooter - tho could be even that is a tad large in grip size for a lady. I think my wife tho could well like it.

    Ahhh, thx Robb.

I was imagining another 9mm but that looks good for a .380. I imagine just a smidge' smaller than std Thunder .380.

I have most of Bersa's new models, including the UC-9 and 380 CC. The Concealed Carry model is a bit slimmer, rounded and the grip is a little smaller than on the regular Thunder 380. As for the recoil of the guns, the UC-9 and the Concealed Carry feel about the same. The 9mm round is more powerful, but the gun is bigger and heavier, so it helps dampen the recoil. Neither gun is difficult to control and for small hands, the CC would be an outstanding choice.

As for price, the regular T-380's sell for $200-$230. The CC models seem to be going for about $20-$30 more in most places. I saw several last month at a local gun show selling for $239 -$259.

Here's a link to photo's of them from another post... http://www.combatcarry.com/vbulletin...1&d=1155495729

I have a Bersa Thunder .380 and it is a nice gun; however my wife can't stand to shoot it. The slide comes back to bite her every time. She has tried all kind of ways to grip it, but it still happens. I have no problem at all shooting it. My wife does love shooting my Glock 19. I own a Bersa Thunder DT .380. Originally, I gave it to my son in-law,
but he showed negative responsibility in gun handling techniques with
a 2-year old in the household; so I took possession of the weapon.
It now rest comfortably in my Liberty RSC~!

I foolishly let two great buys on the Bersa .380 pass by. I won't make that mistake a third time.

I see from the webpage that they now have an internal lock; so, I won't be buying a NIB model. I did see them for $218 at the local Academy Sports that opened this week.

I love my Bersa T .380. For its size I wish they could make it a 9mm in the same gun. Recoil is not bad. It is easy to shoot, great trigger, accurate. Will eat any ammo I give it. I don't really like the sight on the CC model but in a SD situation it is more than adequate IMO.

I would like to take a look at their other guns but I have not found a dealer they carries them yet. Mine only has the .380 models.

My regular carry is Bersa .380 CC. It shoots like a dream, handles everything you feed it and is easy to carry/conceal. Very little felt recoil. Only downside, IMO, is the sights, or lack thereof. But since most CCW draws will be CQC, I feel very comfortable with this gun.
