    My new CCW

Going to pick up my new Combat Weapon this week. Will be my full time CCW. I use a M&P 40 right now, but this one is just a lil better.

I've owned this weapon since august and havn't fired it once! I bought it used and had it sent to Bowie Tactical Concepts for a little makeover.

The only thing that will be added is a Warren rear sight.

    Added or modified were:

Grip: stippled This is the 2nd Bowie M&P with this style of stippling, I don't ever want to drop it! Beavertail is removed. Removed material for magwell cutouts if ever needing to rip out the mag in a problematic time.

Sights: front tritium, rear was notched, blasted and blackend, white dots taken out.

Trigger: About .035 overtravel and breaks at 4 pounds.

Finish: I wanted something different, and David suggested guncoat, but done up a special way so that it makes this color, and I love it.

    Slide: Took the edges off.

Sorry, just had to brag, I love my M&P's.

    Looks good

I must say I hear more and more good re the M&P and if I was looking still for a good carry piece' would have that on my list for trying.

Seems BTC has done a nice job.

    Very nice weapon.

I am thinking about getting an M&P 40 for cool weather CC, (though I still prefer revolvers most of the time) but am waiting for the compact to come out in .40. I think they only make the compact in 9mm right now. I hope they start making it in 40 soon.

    Very nice mods....
I have always liked the M&P.. however one thing that it lacks is the scond strike capability.... and I sure love DA/SA guns....

For some applications, and for some people, maybe it makes sense. Not being an expert on the matter, I don't suppose I can make a blanket decision for everyone else. For me personally, though, I don't have them attached to my defensive handguns for the reason fowler alluded to - the rule doesn't say, "Point your weapon at the target, and then determine whether or not it is something you want to destroy."
