    Ruger SR45

Anyone here own or have any shooting experience with this .45 ? I like the profile of the hangun. There's a gunshow in Houston this weekend, and I might fondle a few guns.

What ever happened to the mythical SR45c?

I used to own one so I can chime in...

    Pros...
    A pretty good trigger
10 rounds of .45 ACP goodness per mag
Like all Ruger SR polymer pistols, it was really slim for a double stack
    Very accurate

    Cons...
Felt really unbalanced. Top and front heavy.
Too many darn safeties and nannies like all Ruger SR pistols!
Small chicklet thumb safety was a turn off
This gun is big and bulky. Don't bother CCing it

I shot just 200 rounds thru it. Had two failures to feed. May have been the JHP I was shooting. By otherwise not terrible.

Overall, I just didn't like how it felt but I liked that it was a good gun that shot great. It's not in the same league as Glock's or XD's. Yes Rugers are durable and good guns (I own three other Rugers - LCP LCR and SR1911) but there was something about this one. Just felt, well, cheap. IMO. Ymmv.

I've got the SR45 & am very happy with it. I've shot 500-600 rounds of that maybe 100 HP & have not had one hiccup.
The only negative I've had is the mags when new are very stiff, so much so that the 10th round was a slight PIA to load in the mag. That & then when trying to rack the slide with a full mag took quite a bit of umph to pull the slide to the rear, if mag was inserted into the pistol with the slide held back there was not a problem. Took a few days of leaving the mags loaded & unloading & reloading them to loosen them up.
I did remove the mag safety, I see no advantage to it & like to be able to dry-fire with a mag removed. The thumb safety is small & did take me a little while to get used to
The pistol is large but pretty thin & carries well for me in an IWB holster at 4 o'clock. I'm over 6'2" tall & think that helps hide the pistol under a button up shirt.
Overall I like the feel of the SR45 & it shoots very accurate for me. It works for me but with that said I'm the 1st to admit I'm no pistol expert by any stretch.

I have one and like it. It's not for carry, although it is slim. Recoil is tame and it has a decent trigger. I paid $459 a little over a month ago. Shop had the sr9/40's for $439, so about $20 more than those. It's a definite keeper for me. It's nice for a low cost 45.

I still roll with a stainless P90. Ugly, but very effective. Like a fat chick.

I would like to get a SR45, But all the SR45's that I have seen have a stainless slide. I would like an all black one.

That sounds like a deal up on your end of the state. I would snatch that up as well.
