I dunno.I carry a G29 in 10MM and sometimes swap out for my 357 Sig Conversion BBL to fit the G29..thus the lighter recoil.and the "better for doors and windshield" capability..

But then again..I'm weird.. and I KNOW ALL of you WILL agree with that statment (my being weird) LMAO

Why pay 45acp prices for the 9mm performance of the 40sw? Who says life nots good after 50?
The .45 ACP suffers a significant loss of velocity (energy) out of a short barrel. The data in ballistic charts is from a barrel length that produces maximum velocity. The .45 was designed for a 5" barrel, the .40 was designed for shorter barrels.

I don't have a chronograph but it would be interesting to run the numbers of a .45 shot from a 3" and 3.5" barrel and a .40 from a 3" and 3.5" barrel. I'll bet the muzzle energy is not that much different between a .40 and .45 out of these short barrels. Anybody here with a chronograph care to experiment and post results here?

I tell ya what, I challenge someone to stand in front of a screaming .38 or .22. I my opinion shot placement, shot placement. Carry what you shoot best and are comfortable with.

To answer your question, no. I don't want to experiment with a chrongograph and geek out on a perfectly good Saturday at the range with my gun. I don't care how much fps, velocity, foot lbs, torque, horsepower or whatever. I don't want to get shot with anything. Period. Not a BB gun, not a paintball gun, not a .45 out of a 3" barrel or a 3 foot barrel. It is inconsequential to debate stuff like this.

Sorry had to rant because caliber debates are pretty dumb.
