No longer a XD guy. All Glocks and Rugers now

Yup. I sold off all my remaining XD pistols and made my pledge to the altar of Glock.

I used to own a XD9sc, XD 45c, and XDM 40. Ever since I got my Glocks 19 and 26, I grew more and more displeased with my XD's. They were bulkier and heavier. And the trigger is pretty vague compared to the glass break accuracy of a Glock or 1911.

So I'm XD free now. Just my two Glocks, and Rugers LCP, LCR and SR1911 round up my handguns. My safe is in harmony now.

What size XDm did you own? I am considering the 3.8 in .40.. But I am also considering a Glock 22. What were your likes/dislikes about the XDm?

Shot a friend's XDm 9 the other day, first time shooting the Springfield line. I also just purchased a G19 so I shot them side by side. The XD is a great gun, but I wouldn't trade my 19 for anything. Guess I'm just used to the Glock feel now. Plus, the extra mag capacity is comforting. I may have to add a 26 to my collection as well someday.

Wow! I've never heard a Glock trigger compared favorably with a 1911 trigger!

We went the other way. Left the old Rugers behind when we met an XD. Different strokes for different folks.

Funny, I went the exact opposite, and am a more comfortable with the XD line. I still shoot my G23 and enjoy it, but it just doesn't feel as nice, nor do I like the trigger as much as I do the other. Different strokes . . . glad you got what you like, though. Though if you ever get dissatisfied again, go ahead and send them my way.

Umm definitely not the same. DAO vs SAO makes sure of that. But both have zero take up and a clear definite break point.

I actually did a write up on that a few weeks ago. That was the beginning of the end for my XD's. The differences became more and more annoying with each day. But like everyone said, to each their own. I'm sure other XD owners will love their guns for a good long while. For me, I just realized how much more I love Glocks.

I like my glocks, but I'm not dumping my other pistols for not being manufactured by glock. I'm willing to bet someday down the road you might eyeball an XD and wonder if you made a mistake getting rid of all of them. I definitely would have kept at least one just to have one. Who says your safe has to be in harmony? Flavor is the spice of life. But to each their own, whatever makes you happy.

I had an XD .40 4 inch, and I was just never comfortable with it. It didnt fit my hand well and I was not very accurate with it at all, no matter how hard i tried. Sold it off and got a G22, and have not been happier. There was nothing wrong with my xd, it fed everything I put in it and everyone shot it like it was laser guided, it just wasnt the right gun for me. I see no point in keeping something you dont like just to own it. Good luck in your quest !! :)
