It's the transfer bar and is considered normal for Rugers. Some rattle, some don't. Both my LCR and Super Blackhawk rattle but my GP 100 Wiley Clapp does not.

Does it rattle unloaded, or loaded? I have an older S&W revolver that's in great condition, but the rounds slide back and forth a little in the cylinder.

Perfectly normal but strangely enough my LCR quit rattling after a few years.

It rattles regardless of being loaded or unloaded. I didn't think it was a big deal but I never noticed it. It can rattle all it wants .... it shoots like a beast

Yup it's normal. I think the manual mentions it too. Great little revolver.

Mine does, apparently it's a transfer bar, as doghandler says. Worried me until i read about that, but it always shoots fine.

    STOP SHAKING IT!

Then the rattle will go away.

Thats so people know you're coming in case you're not wearing spurs.

Yes and there are about a million, now a million and one, posts on this. :) Heck I do not buy a gun unless I did my research on it and know all about it. Apparently not everyone else does the same. :)
