    Colt's Custom shop Tactical package

Has anyone sent a pistol to Colt's custom shop for the tactical package ?

    Features
◾Complete Dehorn of all Critical Edges
    ◾Action Tune for Enhanced Reliability
    ◾Ambidextrous or Single Side Safety
◾Smith and Alexander or Ed Brown Grip Safety
◾Novak Night Sights (other options available)
◾Finish in Customerís Choice of Available Colt Finishes
◾Checker Front Strap- Choice of Lines per Inch
    ◾Tune Trigger
◾Flat or Arched Checkered Mainspring Housing
    ◾Full Beveled Magazine Well
    ◾Hand Fit Slide to Frame

A colt rep quoted this package at $875 bucks. They are not currently taking any guns right now but they are supposed to open back up in a few months. I am not really sure if that is a good price since I have never had custom work done on a 1911 but I would be pretty confident that they would do a great job ...

I have not had that package, but I have had work done by the Custom Shop, I've never been disappointed. If you check some of the custom 1911 'smiths prices, you'll see that isn't a bad price.

I purchased a Combat Elite to have worked on several years ago, but money got tight. I have heard very good things about the CCS, except that they are slow.

They are a whole lot faster than most any custom 'smith.

I prefer the edges on my Colt sharp. Makes it easier to open up someone if ya have to whack'em :)

Cool thing about it is you can pick and choose what modifications you want done and if your pistol already has any of the parts or services they list they will discount it from the price

About $200 will get you a reliability package from Wilson Combat. Sent my Colt Series 80 1911 to them. Fires like a CHAMP!

That sounds reasonable I recently had everything and few things more done To a Springfeild micro and it ran more than that. I love the feel and the draw ability of a full extreme melt on my micro. I also had the counterbore and throated chamber for reliable feeding along with the ejection port lowered and flared. In over 500+ rounds of 230 grain not one FTF that is what I require of my CCW.
