    For the wheel gun aficionados

My latest purchase, a S&W Model 66-1 with oversize grips. Found her in the original box, with the original paperwork. Looks like someone had run a box of ammo through her and put her away for the last 30 or so years:

She shoots very well. I carried her on Sunday in my Bianchi shoulder rig without any issues.

That is sweet - very sweet.

I actually prefer those grip styles on all my revo's, N frames and smaller. They feel good.

Would it be rude to inquire re price? In that condition I fancy it could hardly have been cheap - and a dash one too! Lovely wheelgun to cherish (and shoot!).

    Good gun

It looks pinned and recessed to me, and you said it was a 66-1. That would make it about early 1970s vintage, I believe. I have a 66-3 and admire this model of revolver.

Thanks for all the praise guys, I was real luck to find her...I have wanted either a nickel model 19 or a 66-1 FOREVER but I wanted a pristine example.

I paid the tidy sum of $385 and I would have done it again if there were 2 of em'!

I just love the feeling of carrying a 4" K frame, and stoked with 125gr. GDHP I sure don't feel out gunned.

I am planning on ordering an Andrews Custom Leather vertical monarch rig for this gun, I have heard great things about Andrew and his products but opinions welcome.

    Thanks for looking,

    P.s.

As you can see I HATE S&W revos:

(Top to bottom 27-2 4", 66-1 4", 10-8 4", 60-3 2", only the J frame is not pinned and both magnums are recessed, no MIM, and the firing pin where it belongs, on the hammer!)

Because they usually have a way of making me go broke!

I love to see folks who still love the 66. My 66-3 3" is an awsome pistol and I usually carry it during hunting season. That is an awsome purchase.
