    M&P9c unboxing and review!

Well, after much deliberation, I finally decided on the M&P9c. Some of the other options I was considering were the Glock 19 and the Springfield XDM. Why the M&P? Well, I'm just not in love with the way the Glock feels in my hands, the angles don't work well with me. I have no problems with them as a gun at all, and in fact, I used to own one before I sold it (which I'm still kicking myself for). The XDM lost out only because it felt a little chunkier to me, and to be perfectly honest, the price played a role in it too. While all the companies offer military pricing, the M&P turned out to be a better deal. I still love the XDM, and wouldn't turn it down, but pricing was the sole deciding factor. I was able to get the M&P9c with factory night sights and an extra magazine, sans safety and magazine safety for $459 + tax and transfer. Personally, I call that a pretty big win!

On to the pictures! Sorry about the lighting, between the reflection off the table, and the camera itself having conniptions with the lighting, they aren't PERFECT.

Decent enough box, but honestly, Springfield embarasses the competition in this regard.

I honestly thought the extra mag would just be wedged in somewhere, but there was a spot for everything.

Coming from the range, I was very happy with how it performed. As with most guns, it easily outshoots me. Unfortunately, I was only able to run 50 rounds through it this time, but it handled every round without even thinking about it, and with no issues. It fit my hands well, even though it's a fairly small gun, but more importantly, it FELT great in my hands while shooting. It has a fair (as opposed to unfair?) amount of flip to the recoil, again, due to the smallish size, but nothing that is by any means anywhere close to being hard to handle, and follow-on shots came quickly and easily. Like I said, with only 50 rounds, I wasn't able to spend the amount of time with it that I wanted, but so far I am VERY happy with the purchase, and I can't wait to get out to put some more rounds through it!

I have a mp9c and have not have any problems with it at all, fine shooter.
Glock's and mp's are real close as for holsters. my G23 and mp9c are so close in size. A simple
hard sear replacement will lighten up the trigger. Have fun shooting !

Yah done good. I took a S&W M&P Compact 9mm through Tactical Responses Fighting Pistol course. You shoot 1K rounds in two days in that course.

That M&P did great. I do give the edge to a Glock 19, but the only other pistol most any Tactical Response folks recommend is the M&P 9.

Also, some side by side size comparisons to the Bersa Thunder .380... Not having them side by side in the store, I thought the Bersa was much smaller, but when I got them home next to each other, I was quite surprised...

Look's like you've had better luck with yours. I've got the 40c. Out of the 145 rounds I've put through it I've had 15 failure to feeds and that's with four different brands of ammo.. Hopefully S&W can fix it. If not I guess I'll just stick to my Glocks.

Does the pistol not have an internal lock or magazine disconnect?

Correct. If you can see on the right side shot, it actually states "Caution - Capable of firing with magazine removed" on the slide.

Hope you enjoy it. I got my M&P 9c this week as well. 300 rounds through it and quite happy so far.

Congrats on a great purchase! I hope it serves you well for years to come....but I hope you never need it in dire circumstances.
