This is only a hunch, but I have a feeling "glockman10mm" might have some decent insight.

I have owned and carried Glock 10mm guns since 1992. The G29 SF or Gen 4 guns are great for concealed carry. Recoil is about like a .45 ACP +P and much less than a .357 magnum snub-nose revolver. I sold my G29SF after I retired since I can dress around the gun now. I currently own a Glock G20 SF, a Kimber Stainless Target II, and a Rock Island Armory TAC II in 10mm.
I carry a gun, because a Cop is too heavy.

I have never shot a compact or subcompact 10mm but own a full size Glock 10mm and I thought about the G29 but I was concerned about the extra recoil with the smaller gun.

I like my Glock 29 SF.
The only factory ammo I've shot is Hornady 155 gr. XTP, seems like a good choice for SD.
Out of my 29 the Hornady load averages 1,278 fps / 562#KE (that is a little faster than advertised).
The power factor PF for that 155 gr. load is 198, a Glock 30 with 230 gr. Ranger T produced a PF of 201.
The PF calculation can be used to compare recoil out of similar pistols.
No internal lock or magazine disconnect on my pistols!

I recently bought it for $569.99 and took it to the range. I have two hundred rounds of Winchester Silvertip 175 grain through it without any issues. So far, I really like it. The fit, finish, and trigger are really good. My Kimber is a little better, but not twice as good for twice the price.

I have the Glock 20 & Gen 4 29. The 29 is one of my EDC pistols. It handles the heavier loads pretty well when compared side by side to the 20, better than I expected. My hand loaded 200gr XTP's run 1150fps out of the 29, which translates to 587# KE and a PF of 230.

I have 500 155gr XTP bullets coming free from Hornady shortly that I'm looking forward to working up loads with. I am impressed with the velocity you got from your 29 with their 155. To be faster than advertised from the 29 is awesome. I typically lose 50-60fps in my 29 vs my 20.

To the OP, the 10 is a lot of fun and very versatile. You should give it a go.

They are a good substitute for a carbine when you go hog hunting provided you have enough running room in case you miss.

    Can't comment on a "compact" version of a 10mm but I do have a 20SF.

It's a beast of a gun...love it. I took a look at a G29 but it just didn't fit my hand well, which is too bad because I'd love to have gotten one for my EDC rotation.

I really like the G29. It's fun to shoot and accurate. A lot of power in a fairly small package. It is a bit thick to conceal with some clothes so I use it and the slimmer G36 as my EDC pistols. I prefer the 29 though. I do use a magazine extension so my little finger has something to hold on to, without it the grip feels a little too short to me. When I carry the 29 I carry a G20 magazine as my reload, so I'm carrying 26 rounds which I think is plenty.

G29 gen 4. Sweet gun. The 10mm is so versatile. 200 more rounds, and I'll be ready to EDC it. It's got recoil, but not near as bad as an air weight .357. More like a snub .44 Mag. Sweet gun.

As far as Glocks go, the 29 is fun.
