Just joined the 1911 club! (Pictures below):

Just got myself a Springfield Range Officer. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet (plan on doing so later today), but I never really "got" the 1911 hype until now. It looks great, feels great, and I'm pretty excited to shoot it! As a new 1911 owner, I've done some research but I'm far from an expert. Is there anything I should know about this gun or about 1911's in general?

What did you pay for it?

The first time you pull the trigger, you'll be hooked for life. A 1911 will run dirty all day, but won't run dry.

How is the holster? Cheesy, or quality?

I will be picking up my XDs in about a week. Interesting that Springfield includes a holster.

Nice buy. Remember 1911s are communal critters and you just cannot own only one.

Good choice! I hope you enjoy shooting yours as much I as I do mine.

I'm not here to applaud over your new gun, PainCakesx. I'm just here to pay homage to the legacy of John Browning. Oh, wait, looks like you are too!

Good purchase! I love my 1911. I wanted to test the 1911 waters and bought one of the cheaper brands (RIA), and its my most accurate pistol by far.

I'm now shopping for a higher end one.

I carry a gun, because a Cop is too heavy.
